This protected area covers 450 hectares and encompasses a variety of ecosystems in and around the limestone gorges carved into the landscape by the Sagittario River. Bordering the Abruzzo National Park, the area is home to many mammals, including bears, wolves and deer. Birdwatchers can try to spot golden eagles, peregrine falcons, sparrowhawks and more.
