Penne

Penne is today one of the most important towns in the Vestini area, located in the hills between the Apennines and the Adriatic Sea. It is situated on the lake of the same name, which is now part of a nature reserve. This is another of the most beautiful villages in Italy. The prominent use of one particular building material in the town has led to Penne being nicknamed the "town of bricks". Sometimes it is also called "little Siena".
