The “Ship Fountain” is located in the central Piazza Primo Maggia and was designed by Pietro Cascella, who was born in Pescara and is known for his monumental and often symbolic works. The fountain resembles (and is named after) a ship, which symbolizes the intimate bond between the city and the sea. It is not only a work of art, but also a popular meeting place.
