Abbateggio is once again one of the most beautiful villages in Italy

The main assets of Abbateggio are the narrow alleys and the stone houses. The historical centre of the village consists of a core full of old small houses built in a local white stone. The houses seem to cling to a cliff that overlooks the narrow valley of Fosso della Vecchia Fonte. The village looks like a cluster of small stone houses, winding streets and steep stairs. The beautiful landscape in the background completes the picture. The town also has a newer district that dates back to the early 1900s.
