A brief history of Pescara.

A brief history of Pescara.

A brief history of Pescara.

During the Roman period, the city was known as Aternum, serving as a strategic port for trade and military purposes. After the fall of the Roman Empire, it was nearly destroyed by a series of barbarian invasions. However, during the Middle Ages, the city was rebuilt and renamed Piscaria, referring to the abundance of fish.

During the Renaissance, Pescara was able to continue to grow culturally and economically. Unfortunately, the city suffered great damage during the Second World War, but fortunately this could still be repaired.
