Caramanico Terme
Caramanico Terme
Caramanico Terme takes its name from the word "cara", meaning rock, or from arimannia, the name of a Lombard settlement from the late Middle Ages. In 1960, Terme was added to the town's name to promote Caramanico as a spa town. The town is located at the confluence of the Orfento and Orta rivers on a hilltop among mountains. Other attractions include the 15th-century church of Santa Maria Maggiore, the 13th-century Romanesque church of San Tomasso, and museums of archaeology, Abruzzo, and Italian fauna.
